The main urban area of Chongqing comprises several districts: Yuzhong, Jiangbei, Nan’an, Jiulongpo, Shapingba, Dadukou, Beibei, Yubei, and Banan. Within these vibrant districts, you’ll discover iconic attractions such as Hongya Cave, Ciqikou (Porcelain Port), and the Great Hall of the People, along with major commercial centers and shopping malls.
Chongqing’s urban area is densely populated and bustling with commerce and heavy traffic, making it an excellent place to experience the city’s dynamic atmosphere.
By Train: The urban area is served by three major railway stations: Chongqing West Railway Station, Chongqing East Railway Station, and Chongqing North (Chongqing Bei) Railway Station. Arriving by high-speed train is the most convenient option.
By Flight: Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG) is situated in the urban area and consists of three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Terminal 3B is currently under construction and is expected to open soon. If you’re arriving from outside China, you will land in Terminal 3. Domestic flights may arrive in either Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Please check with your airline for specifics. The airport is approximately 21 km north of the city center.
